Darshak Shah

Darshak Shah firmly believes in increasing access to NHS funded services to reduce the waiting list across specialities. He is an acknowledged expert in the NHS commissioning of independent sector health services, patient choice and capacity/productivity expansion.

Darshak is a co-founder and Non-executive Director of Newmedica (UK’s #2 provider of cataract surgery, now part of the Specsavers Group), advisor to Oviva (digital weight management and diabetes prevention), and co-founder of Paloma Health (multi-speciality NHS service provider, launching with Children’s Autism Assessments).

In 2023, he was appointed as an Expert Advisor to the No 10/DHSC Elective Recovery Taskforce, bringing his experience and learnings from ophthalmology to a broader policy setting.

As well as serving as a Trustee for Future Care Capital, Darshak is a Trustee for the National Centre for Circus Arts and a member of the Strategic Council of the Independent Healthcare Providers Network.
