Kim Thomas has been a freelance journalist for more than 20 years, writing for national newspapers, magazines and websites. A specialist in health and medical issues, her work has appeared in publications such as the BMJ, the Guardian, Digital Health and Practical Patient Care. She is also a regular contributor to Acuity, a continuing professional development magazine for optometrists.
Kim has a particular interest in mental illness, and is CEO of the Birth Trauma Association, a small national charity supporting parents experiencing PTSD after a traumatic birth. Her book Birth Trauma was published in 2013, and a new book, Postnatal PTSD: a Guide for Health Professionals, will be published in 2022.
