5 October 2020 – Conservative Party Conference: Fringe event

FCC is supporting and speaking at an Institute for Government Fringe event at this year’s Conservative Party Conference.

Can the government find a long-term solution for social care?

The Coronavirus crisis has put huge pressure on the social care system and further highlighted the funding difficulties it faces. The government has pledged to secure a cross-party consensus on social care, with nobody forced to sell their home to fund care. FCC is supporting a fringe event which will consider:

  • What are the key elements of a sustainable, long-term settlement for social care?
  • How realistic is a cross-party consensus?
  • How much more money does social care need to provide a decent service?

Chair: Nick Davies, the Institute for Government

Panel speakers to be confirmed and will include FCC’s Annemarie Naylor MBE
