Future Care Capital appoints new Directors

Future Care Capital (FCC) is delighted to welcome two new Directors to its staff team. Dave Dawes, joins FCC as its new Commercial Director and Sue Wixley as Director of Marketing and Communications.

Chief Executive of FCC, Greg Allen, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sue and Dave on board. They have impressive track records and bring significant experience in their respective fields. This is a big year for Future Care Capital and its mission to shape the future of health and care provision. I look forward to working with our new Directors to build on the work of our existing team. This year Future Care Capital will be publishing new policy ideas and research aimed at facilitating a wider national debate about some of the most pressing health and care issues.”

Dave Dawes joins FCC from Community Health Innovation CIC where he was the Director of Possibilities. Dave is a nurse, a serial social entrepreneur and has more than 25 years’ experience in nursing and health. He is also a Board Member of Social Enterprise UK and the Royal College of Nursing as well as a lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Dave has previously worked for Nurse First CIC and Entreprenurses CIC and was a former NHS Chief Executive.

Dave Dawes said: “This is a really exciting time to be joining Future Care Capital and I will be focussed on creating commercial partnerships and growing the income generation side of the charity. We will be looking to develop partnership relations with other like-minded organisations who can help us shape health and social care provision in this country.”

Sue Wixley was previously at Hospice UK, where she led its communications and campaigns. Sue brings a wealth of experience of marketing, communications and campaigns in the non-profit sector both in the UK and abroad. She has previously worked for New Philanthropy Capital, Amnesty International, Oxfam and the Nobel Peace Prize winning International Campaign to Ban Landmines. Sue has also been a trustee of three charities.

Sue Wixley said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Future Care Capital at such an important phase in its development. I will be focussed on building the organisation’s profile as an independent thought leader and innovator and supporting its activities to stimulate debate about the future of health and social care in the UK.”

In addition to these two Director appointments, FCC recently recruited Stephen Chia as Project Manager and Josefine Magnusson as Senior Research Officer. The charity is also working with Green Park to recruit a number of new trustees to join its board for the next phase of its growth.
