New Chief Executive appointed

Greg Allen has been appointed the Chief Executive of Future Care Capital. He will join the charity in April.

Future Care Capital is a national charity committed to engaging, educating and involving every generation in the development and delivery of unified health and care provision. Beginning life as the National Nursery Examination Board in 1945, the charity has evolved throughout its 70-year history and continues to have Her Majesty the Queen as its Royal Patron.

Greg Allen has been appointed the Chief Executive of Future Care Capital

Greg joins Future Care Capital following his role as the UK Business Transformation Director at Nuffield Health. He was previously the Chief Executive of the national Centre for Workforce Intelligence for three years before joining the Department for Health in 2016, where he supported NHS Improvement as a special adviser and national programme director during its first year as NHSI. Greg has held a number of health focused Board roles during his career, including Executive Director of Workforce and Organisation Development at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and Executive Director of HR & OD at NHS Devon.

Greg Allen, the newly appointed Chief Executive of Future Care Capital, said:

“I am delighted to be appointed the Chief Executive of Future Care Capital.

“This is both an exciting and challenging time for the health and care sector. At the charity, we have a bold vision for 2030 and I am very much looking forward to working with the Board and the executive team to help deliver this positive vision for how we can improve the way innovative health and adult social care provision is delivered across the country.”

Andrew Whelan, Chairman of Future Care Capital’s Board of Trustees, said:

“Greg Allen has held a number of high profile senior health and workforce related roles during his career so far. Trustees will work closely with Greg to build on the foundations already achieved since we officially launched the charity a year ago. Greg is ideally qualified and experienced to lead our charity forward. I know he will work hard with our wider executive team to focus on how we can build on our 2030 Vision for health and care as we lead up to the government’s adult social care consultation this summer.”

The Latest from Us

We’re delighted to launch our latest report ‘Facilitating to Develop Caring Economies’. Our report looks at the risks and opportunities different parts of the country face in planning and managing adult social care provision. Annemarie Naylor MBE, Director of Policy and Strategy at Future Care Capital, said: “National policy makers need to understand the demographic changes underway in local communities far better than they do now. Our report offers practical recommendations to help central and local government be better prepared to manage the challenges and opportunities our longevity presents. I hope that the forthcoming adult social care Green Paper resists the temptation to suggest that a one-size-fits-all model represents a workable way forward and, instead, recognises the opportunities and challenges that will flow from local variations as different populations age.” Read the full report here:
