Evidence it

Independent evaluation of the difference your work makes.

The situation

Your programme is running, or about to be, and the people who decide its future want evidence: a board, a commissioner, a national body. Without a clear account of what is working, for whom and at what cost, even a strong approach will struggle to progress. The NHS and its partners adopt on the strength of evidence, and the bar is high.

What we do

We design and deliver independent evaluations that withstand scrutiny, proportionate to the scale of the work and clear enough to inform decisions. Evidence can be needed at any point: to decide whether an approach should progress, to make the case for resources, or to support adoption elsewhere.

Where you want it, we also build your organisation’s own capability to generate evidence of impact.

Our evaluation work is led by Prof. Andy Jones, who has more than 280 peer-reviewed publications and over £25 million of research funding, with a team of qualified specialists who stay with the work from design to published findings. As an independent charity, we have no stake in the answer, which is why our findings carry weight with commissioners and boards.

Who this is for

  • Innovators who need credible evidence for commissioners.
  • Health systems evaluating a new model of care.
  • Charities and local authorities that need to know, and to demonstrate, whether a programme makes a difference.

In practice

In Cornwall, we evaluated integrated neighbourhood teams that bring health, care and community services together around at-risk patients. The same team worked on the evaluation from design to publication.

We have also produced an independent system analysis of extended reality in NHS workforce training, connecting the evidence base to governance and realistic adoption pathways.
