Evaluation Support Service

Our core team works alongside an extensive network of specialist associates giving us the breadth of expertise to address many of the challenges faced today. All have an impressive track record of successfully bringing about change to generate sustained positive impact. We collaborate across boundaries, with clinical providers, patient organisations, specialist experts, innovators, grant funders and investors, as well as policy makers and think tanks, to accelerate the development and implementation of better ways of working.

Evaluation Support Service

In an increasingly competitive funding environment, the need to evidence impact is greater than ever. With traditional evaluation consultancy it’s back to square one once a report is delivered, with the commissioning organisation not increasing internal capacity or know-how regarding evaluation. Taking a flexible approach to evaluation, we offer distinctive evaluation support service for organisations wanting to evidence the impact of their work. Rather than simply offering the type of “off the shelf” package offered by many organisations, our service is bespoke and tailored to your needs as an organisation.

Our evaluation team is led by Professor Andy Jones, a senior academic with many years of experience leading evaluations and supporting organisations in the generation of evidence on their impact. We work to ensure that the outputs of all of our evaluations are strongly aligned to your own needs whilst at the same time looking for opportunities to co-produce our work with you, demystifying the evaluation process and upskilling your team in their understanding of evaluation approaches. We leave your team with effective skills and knowledge to continuously improve and showcase your impact, helping ensure lasting benefits, enhanced credibility, and with a stronger case for securing future funding.

Professor Andy Jones is a leading public health academic with decades of experience working with NHS, local government and third-sector organisations. Andy has wide-ranging expertise on the pragmatic evaluation of public health and health service interventions using mixed-method approaches. He spent over three decades in academia and was most recently Head of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at Norwich Medical School. He also spent time embedded in the public health team at Norfolk County Council to support development of a more evidence-based service. He has won over £25 million of research funding as lead or co-applicant and published over 280 peer-reviewed journal articles. He currently holds an (h) index score on Scopus of 63, which places him in the top 1% most cited academics globally. He holds keen interests in policy and delivery and has worked closely with a range of key organisations including the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) as a member of the Public Health Research Funding Committee, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as an expert topic member involved in the development of several guidance documents, and Cancer Research UK where he was Vice Chair of the Tobacco Advisory Group. At the invitation of the Chief Medical Officer, he co-authored the current UK Government physical activity guidelines for adults and has recently led the development of a new Standard Evaluation Framework for outdoor health interventions to meet the commitments of the UK Government Environment Improvement Plan.
