Breaking barriers, driving impact: a new chapter for FCC
23rd April 2025 about a 4 minute read

After six months of focused work, we are proud to share a new chapter in Future Care Capital’s story. This week marks the launch of our refreshed brand, a new website, and the announcement of new trustees who join us at a time of renewed clarity and purpose.

We have taken this pause not to step back, but to step forward with intention: refining our role, our services, and how we show up for the health and social care sector.

What emerges today is an evolved FCC – sharper in focus, clearer in purpose, and more determined than ever to break down the barriers to meaningful, systemic change.

Who we are now

Future Care Capital (FCC) is the UK charity dedicated to breaking barriers and driving sustainable, measurable impact in health and care.

Our mission is to help organisations, funders and frontline services tackle systemic challenges through practical action and collaboration.

At the core of our work are three high-impact services:

  • Evaluation – helping organisations measure and improve their impact through rigorous, independent and evidence-based evaluation
  • Innovation management – supporting the development, testing and scaling of new health and care models
  • Impact investment – guiding charities and funders as they navigate investment into socially valuable, financially sustainable innovation

We are a connector, a critical friend and a catalyst, bringing people together across systems to shape, scale and sustain solutions that make a real difference.

Why we have evolved

The decision to reposition FCC came in response to the changing realities of the sector and the growing urgency for action.

Health and care is under enormous pressure. The NHS and care providers alike are navigating workforce shortages, rising demand and persistent inequalities, while trying to adapt to rapid technological and demographic change.

These challenges are not new, but they are deepening. And too often, the systems and structures designed to deliver care are struggling to keep up.

We believe the answer lies not in patchwork fixes, but in systemic transformation – the kind that breaks down silos, unlocks innovation and puts people at the centre of care. That belief drove us to clarify our purpose and evolve how we work.

We have moved from a primarily research-based to a more action-focused organisation. One that does not just observe and comment, but supports and enables with tools, partnerships and delivery designed to help health and care leaders turn ambition into impact.

What has changed

You will see the changes reflected across our new website, our refreshed brand and how we talk about our work. But this is more than a visual update. It is a strategic shift that better reflects who we are and how we can help.

We now work in partnership with a range of organisations across health, care, government, and the charitable and investment sectors. We help them evaluate what works, manage innovation from idea to implementation, and direct funding where it can do the most good.

Our work is shaped by deep sector knowledge and guided by a clear commitment: to improve lives by improving systems.

Our status as a charity matters. It allows us to remain independent, trusted and evidence-led. It gives us the flexibility to engage in different ways – from an advisory to direct investment of our people.

And it means we can reinvest in initiatives that create long-term benefit for the sector and the people it serves.

Looking ahead

This moment marks the start of an exciting new phase for FCC. We are joined by a strengthened board of trustees, bringing fresh insight and experience to our work.

We are launching new work programmes, forming new partnerships, and preparing to release two new reports that shares our progress and sets the direction for what comes next.

We know that the challenges facing health and social care are complex and deeply rooted. But we also know that change is possible, and that it starts when organisations like ours bring the right people together around the right problems, with the right support.

So here we are: a renewed FCC, ready to do just that.

We are here to break barriers, to build bridges, and to work alongside the system – not just observe it.

If you are facing challenges in delivering health and care services or looking to evaluate or invest in solutions that can transform lives, we are ready to help.

Welcome to the new FCC.
